GNU/Linux howtos
This is where I will be putting a few things that I have done on my computer and want to pass on.
I am not by any means an expert on GNU/Linux, but I have been using the system on my desktop and laptop computers for a few years now.
- Playing Youtube videos on GNU/Linux. It will come as quite a surprise to many people that it is possible to play Youtube.com videos on GNU/Linux. It is a testimony to Free Software developers that this is possible at all.
- Apache local servers. Here's the problem; you're responsible for maintaining a website (or maybe more than one), but you want to test out changes before you unleash them on the unsuspecting world.
- How to open compressed archives in Konqueror. An issue that I have with the default gNewSense-KDE 1 and 1.1 setup is the way that compressed archives are opened in Konqueror; or rather how they are not opened.
